DUNCAN PICKSTOCK makes heavily
textured abstract canvases from a mixture of materials including
acrylic, oil, pencil, plaster, graphite and marble dust. Varying
in scale and dimensions, Pickstock's paintings remain focused
and equally treated in application. They are earthy, layered and
expressive in their technique.
Despite this there is a calmness that prevails. It is left to
the viewer to interpret the feeling and mood that is expressed
through the movement of the materials and implied shapes or
forms or horizontal lines.
