FRANCESCA TOSETTI creates dark and brooding paintings that verge
on the border of abstract and figurative. By commonly using a
restricted palette of dark reds, oranges and scorched yellows
Tosetti achieves a burning atmosphere reminiscent of the most
incandescent sunset.
Most commonly made with oil on board, her works are heavy and
textured, producing an almost antiquated feeling. The surfaces
are well-worked layers that express a romantic interpretation of
an imaginary landscape.
