AMANDA WEBSTER is well known for her
quirky images of various subject matters. Figurative elements
are painted in a representational style onto flat colour
grounds. The subjects are greatly varied and always chosen
according to the artist's sense of the visually stimulating.
Working from secondary sources, the result is an idiosyncratic
portrayal of the familiar and the usual. Webster instils her
subjects with a sardonic sense of humour and gives us a witty
portrayal of dislocated parts of a familiar world.
