GILL ROCCA vies between landscape,
seascape and skyscape. Her paintings are sensuous
interpretations of the world around us that tend to capture an
elusive moment in time and space. They are enigmatic renditions
that are precisely painted in either the photo-realist manner
or, as with the landscapes of London parks and commons, in a
more naïve but still expert fashion. She is concerned with the
painted surface and implied light and spatial depth; and
displays an enormous sensitivity to both her subject and her
rendition.
